On the Water

Here's a short video
of some of our fishing
trip, to add to the previous photos.

FISHING IN THE TOP END

Recently, Dave and I were able to go
out 'fishing' with our Pastor and his wife,
just out of Darwin Harbour.

It was a great day of new experiences for us
both and we were very happy we didn't get
seasick (as was the case with Dave's only
other ocean experience).
The sea was calm and the fish
were weren't biting.

So, we didn't actually catch any fish,
but we did have a lovely day cruising around
and taking in the sights.

But, as is all too often the case in the Top End,
in a matter of  a couple of hours,
the weather turned and we were in for some fun!

The clouds gathered overhead,
and it wasn't long before the rain was
upon us. We all got soaked to the skin
not only from the rain, but from the crashing
waves over the bow of the boat.

Unfortunately, I had to put my camera
away as it was getting quite wet :(

I was in my element,
with waves crashing,
water splashing, the boat going
up and down and trying to throw
us out, going flat out back to shore.

Justin, our trusty Captain guided us
safely back into harbour where we were
able to dry off and head for somewhere to eat.

The view from our hotel balcony was beautiful
even for a city! Now, that's saying somethin'!

We were treated to a spectacular sunset..............
(amazingly, it even looks pretty over
skyscrapers? go figure)

And even better,
an awesome lightning show over the ocean.
I almost cried that I didn't have my tripod and
remote shutter with me, but somehow
I managed to steady the camera on the
balcony and get some alright shots.

So, come to the Top End,
you never know what it's going to
throw at you!!

LYDIA'S WEDDING

I wanted to post some photos
from Lydia Crowe (now Cotton)'s
wedding. It was an absolutely
beautiful wedding and God
honouring in every way.

We were so glad we could go and
I could play the piano.

RANDOM PHOTOS FROM OUR TRIP

Well, as you can see from my
non existent posts about our trip,
I've been far too busy to get time
to properly post any pictures or info
of our trip down south.

So, I am just posting a few pics
as I know you don't want
to look at all 8000!!

I may post some of other recent
happenings if I get a chance.

Not making any promises.
And for those who don't care,
it won't make any difference!

And, as I'm getting older,
I can so relate to this:

And In Other Late News............

Emilee has her Learners!!!
She actually got them on her birthday
2 weeks ago, but, hey, I've been away, OK!

So, now Dave faces the daunting task of
teaching a daughter with only 1 eye,
how to drive!!!

We will now stop for a minutes silence
so we can hear him run screaming down
the driveway.................

Ok. He's good now:)

So, if you're coming to the Territory
anytime soon, you may want to
postpone your trip for a little
longer, just to give Emilee a chance
to improve on her techniques.

Actually, in all fairness, Dave says
she's actually quite good and
not a bad driver at all.

She has had a lot of practice in
moving vehicles around in our
crazy rush hour front yard for the
past few months, so at least
her reversing and parking skills
are already up to speed:)

End of 5 Teenage Daughters Month

Well, as of Lauren's 20th Birthday yesterday,
(Happy Birthday Loz!!),
we no longer have 5 teenagers!

Dave and I have been away for the
past 17 days,  so Cam and Loz have had an
instant family and done a great job
of 'babysitting' for us :)

So, because of being away I wasn't able to
post any photos of the girls all together.

And thankfully, we don't have
teenagers like these.........

In the coming days, I'll be posting some of
our 8000 +km trip, where of course
I took as many photos as kilometres:)

Sneak peek:

Had to go back and visit one of my favourite places

Epic Dust Storm on the Stuart Highway

SPLISH SPLASH SPLOSH!!

Yesterday, we were able to have Chloe's 13th
birthday party at the town pool.
It was an all girls pool party with some
friends from youth group.

She was able to have all her sisters there
too and we all had a great time.
Amazingly, I survived being climbed all
over and hung onto constantly.

There was 18 of us all together,
and I can't remember the amount of times
I counted to 18 to check we hadn't
drowned any!!

Here's a short video of some of the action!

Well, that's the last 13th birthday party for me,
until the grandkids come along I suppose!!

500 000 kms!!!

Yes, on a trip to Darwin
on Tuesday, our trusty old girl
(no, that is not me),
ticked over 500 000kms!!

And guess what?
She didn't fall apart straight
after that:)

We have had her for almost
18 years now and she's
still going!

Dave and I are just about
to add a whole lot more kms
onto her with a trip down to
Mt Gambier and back the
round about way:)

The bus is up to 708 000 kms
and still ticking.

The Lord is good!
That's all I can say!!

And just in case you're
wondering.......
