The Long Way Home
A couple of weeks back,
when Dave and I took Cam and Lauren
back to Darwin to catch the plane,
we decided to come home a different way 😏
In the time we've lived here, we still
haven't done Litchfield or Kakadu,
so it was high time we at least drove that way home.
But, before that, we spent a little bit
of time at Nightcliff Jetty to kill some time
with Cam and Lauren.
The colours of the rocks and cliffs are
phenomenal!! (thank goodness for auto correct)
Due to recent rains, the water was all
brown and muddy, but it was beautiful
nonetheless.
Now, onto Kakadu.
Again, due to recent rains, most of the
tracks off the main road were closed,
but we were mainly passing through
with the view that we'd bring the girls back
another time and camp, when it dried out a bit.
The Wetlands were impressive!
I happily snapped away out the window as we drove
along and enjoyed the different scenery.
We had hoped to take a look at the notorious
Cahill's Crossing, but the first creek crossing
on the way there was 1.2 m over 😒
So, we left it for another day.
Impressive rock formations that
we just admired from a distance
seeing it was stinkin, steamin, hot and
we didn't feel like the walk!
Large expanses of water and flooded rivers
Creepy, croc filled billabongs
And beautiful skies overhead
Just another awesome example
of God's amazing creation!
Psalm 19:1
The heavens declare the glory of God;
and the firmament sheweth his handywork.
Psalm 148
1 Praise ye the Lord. Praise ye the Lord
from the heavens: praise him in the heights.
2 Praise ye him, all his angels:
praise ye him, all his hosts.
3 Praise ye him, sun and moon:
praise him, all ye stars of light.
4 Praise him, ye heavens of heavens,
and ye waters that be above the heavens.
5 Let them praise the name of the Lord:
for he commanded, and they were created.
6 He hath also stablished them for ever and ever:
he hath made a decree which shall not pass.
7 Praise the Lord from the earth,
ye dragons, and all deeps:
8 Fire, and hail; snow, and vapours;
stormy wind fulfilling his word:
9 Mountains, and all hills; fruitful trees,
and all cedars:
10 Beasts, and all cattle; creeping things,
and flying fowl:
11 Kings of the earth, and all people;
princes, and all judges of the earth:
12 Both young men, and maidens;
old men, and children:
13 Let them praise the name of the Lord:
for his name alone is excellent;
his glory is above the earth and heaven.
14 He also exalteth the horn of his people,
the praise of all his saints;
even of the children of Israel,
a people near unto him. Praise ye the Lord.
